Your Impact

Amidst Covid restrictions, which changed our lives the past 16 + months, the SRHT managed to hold 2 Radiothons, Photos with Santa, Avenue of Trees, Points of Light and numerous smaller third party fundraisers hosted by our many supporting businesses in Okotoks and the Sheep River Valley.

These fundraising activities are critical to maintaining healthy coffers and enabling us to support many health
and wellness projects in Turner Valley,Black Diamond, Okotoks, Longview, Priddis and High River.

Like many communities and non-for-profit organizations across Canada, these have been challenging times for us. We have been busy, teaching our children, while trying to work at home, caring for family and friends and pets. The SRHT came through this difficult period because of the resilience and commitment of our donors, volunteers, staff and board members. Everyone worked extra hard to make sure we left no stone unturned searching for donors, and supporting those in need.

Our largest project, the Radiothon, now in its 8th year was a success raising $67,000. I am thrilled to report it did not rain on our parade. Sprinkles, even pouring rain did not deter our supporters from coming out. The sun emerged at noon ensuring a great event. Thank you to everyone who participated. To those new to the event, I hope youhad a swell
time and come out to our other events.

A special thank you is due to our Executive Director Andrea Mitchell, Candice Wyma, Fund Development Co-ordinator and their team of volunteers. Many of the Volunteers return year after year. The Board is fortunate to support a management team so dedicated to ensuring every fund- raising event is fun and a financial success.

This spring, we said goodbye to Cindy Dorais, our past chair and director Alex Zabel, who have been an important part of our work for several years. We also welcomed new Directors Julie Boake, Marion Bowen and Nairn Nerland. Remember we are always looking for new board members. You will learn a lot about our community and have fun to boot. We spent the summer recharging our batteries. Fall is a busy time. I hope we can count on you to join with us.
Lets never take visits and hugs for granted again.
